Over 220 million people around the globe speak French, and it is the sixth most spoken language in the world. It is one of the most popular Romance language s, and the language of the fifth largest economy. So learning French is an attractive endeavor for both business and personal reasons.
The most important step in kicking off your journey is to focus on the pronunciation of some basic words and phrases. Pronunciation is the key to learning a new language, as it’s the basic building block of successfully using French in everyday life.
Rosetta Stone places the utmost emphasis on correct pronunciation as part of our learning program. Our patented TruAccent™ speech-recognition engine is embedded into each and every lesson. This technology compares your voice to native speakers and gives you feedback in real time so that you are able to make tweaks and adjust your attempts on the spot to achieve the most accurate French pronunciation.
Let us take the guesswork out of learning French. You’re in reliable hands with our program which is effective, flexible and fits conveniently in your schedule. Our language-learning program will prepare you with the confidence to speak and understand French. While studying vocabulary and conjugation rules has a place in language learning, it shouldn’t be the focus of your efforts. We teach you a skillset beyond vocabulary with our patented immersive approach, Dynamic Immersion®. An immersive learning environment provides foundational concepts that are taught in specific sequences. Rather than learning conversational phrases as mere memorization exercises, you’ll learn and practice speaking words in the context of real-world situations. This allows you to learn the language, but also build upon it with your own experiences.
Practice makes perfect. And with our 10-minute bite-sized lessons, you’ll be able to fit them into your daily life easily. Our lessons are designed to help you master the basics before moving on to tackle the longer phrases and more complex grammar, and acquire the skills to speak French with confidence.
Additionally, you won’t have to choose between the desktop or Rosetta Stone’s award-winning mobile app when fitting in your daily practice. They are both included with your subscription and remain in sync, allowing you to switch between devices seamlessly. Lessons are downloadable so you can even practice when you are offline.

I've been using Rosetta Stone for years to gain basic competency in multiple languages including German, French, Italian, and recently Chinese and Russian. Starts with the very basics teaching basic vocabulary and grammar without any memorization. I've even impressed some locals in my travels with pronunciation and fluency. This is an excellent place to start if interested in starting to learn a new language or brushing up on one learned years ago.-Gladys
I am trying out Rosetta Stone, to see if it will help out with the correct grammar and conversation (as well as learning how to read and write the language). Within a week, I can already master the sentence structure and start learning the grammar with particles. The local community is so excited to see that I am starting to learn their language. Out of all the language learning tools out there, I 100% recommend Rosetta Stone!-Sy
I've tried other language learning software but Rosetta Stone is much more challenging and professional. I don't have to worry about earning points and following the leader board. I'm trying out the ninety day trial to learn some Russian and I will pay for the privilege once I reach the end of the trial.-Jim
