Challenges and Opportunities for English Learners in the Common Core State Standards
The most effective approach to teaching students who speak a primary language other than English is to leverage students’ knowledge of their own language to promote high levels of learning and biliteracy. This paper frames this in the context of the Common Core State Standards.
