Video Series: Why Your Business Needs a Language Strategy

global business needs a language strategyNew Video Series Featuring Harvard Professor Robert Steven Kaplan

For the next five weeks, we’re embarking on a journey with Harvard Business School professor and former Goldman Sachs head of global investment banking Robert Steven Kaplan.

Taken from his April webinar, “Why Your Business Needs a Language Strategy”, these short videos will provide you with actionable strategies and insights in bite-size pieces that easily fit into your day.

In the first video, Kaplan describes the culture shock that came with his first overseas assignment and the steps he took to improve his operation. It will also be released via LinkedIn and Twitter (@RosettaStoneBiz).

Professor Kaplan’s Background

For over 22 years, Robert Steven Kaplan served as Vice Chairman at Goldman Sachs, in charge of global investment banking. He left the firm in 2005 to join the Harvard Business School. He is current a professor of management practice and associate dean. He is also the author of two books, What You’re Really Meant to Do and What to Ask the Person In the Mirror.

His thoughts stem from an article he wrote with Tsedal Neeley in the September 2014 edition of the Harvard Business Review entitled “What’s Your Language Strategy?” In it, the authors discuss case studies where businesses have put language strategies in action to combat language skill deficits and a lack of cultural competency in international business.

So, join us for the next five weeks as we pick the brain of one of the country’s preeminent minds on international business and the effect language skills can play in your company’s success. Each video will only take a short amount of your time, but the information within can make a big difference in your bottom line.
