WORLD FAQS
In Rosetta World™ you will find opportunities to play language games either by yourself or with a partner to practice your new language. There is also a chat room for you to make connections with others who are learning the same language!
What exactly is Rosetta World™?
Rosetta World is our interactive social language-learning community. Here, you'll connect with other language-learners to help you progress in your new language. Rosetta World matches activities with your learning progress, so you'll always be successful. As you learn in Rosetta Course™, the language in your Rosetta World activities becomes more sophisticated, and new activities appear.
How will Rosetta World help my language-learning?
Rosetta World is separated into three separate sections: Play, Talk, and Explore.
In Play games you'll practice your listening and reading comprehension without directly communicating (speak or type) with other learners. You can choose to play by yourself in Solo games, or compete against another learner.
Activities in Talk help you practice speaking or typing with a partner through collaborative Duo games.
Explore showcases our interactive stories which are written and narrated by native speakers of the language you're learning. The stories are structured in a manner to supplement the lessons you take in Rosetta Course. If you want to turn the tables and become the story teller, you can record yourself reading the stories and get an overall rating on your rhythm and accuracy.
What kinds of games can I play in Rosetta World?
We have a wide selection of games that will test your language skills in inventive ways. Many of these games can be played cooperatively or against another player. Some of our more popular games include:
Super Bubble Mania™- Put your listening skills and reflexes to the test. Distinguish between sounds unique to the learner's language by a popping clusters of bubbles!
BuzzBingo- Bingo board? Check. Native Speaker? Check. Listen to the spoken words and mark them as you hear them. Five in a row wins!
MemGo- Put your listening, reading, and vocabulary together with MemGo. Facing a board of cards, flip over two at a time to match pictures and words.
Picari- Hear a prompt and quickly sort through a stack of photos to find the corresponding picture.
I'm having trouble finding partners to game with. Any advice?
Sometimes your fellow language-learners are simply busy. Or maybe there simply aren't fellow learners at your particular level. That's why we have Game Nights to bring together learners. These hour-long sessions are designed for learners of all levels to have fun while putting their new language skills to use!
