Excellent intro to a foreign language

This is a great product for learning the basics of a language. I am a native English speaker, and took mandarin. The program involves immersion, which seems like the best way to learn; I liken it to how an infant learns a language, through visual cues. Because level 1 seemed so effective, I purchased level 2 without a moments thought! I always like to compare this course to the French courses I took when I was in school; I feel I have learned more Mandarin in 3 months than I did in 3 years of french class!!

Easier than you think

"I've had an interest in French for years and decided to take a chance on Rosetta Stone after seeingTV commercials. I devoted an hour a day to it and went through Level 1 twice. I can't belivehow much I learned and retained in a short time; I was really "getting it." Today, I ordered Level II and can't wait to begin. Many years ago, I had Latin and Spanish in school, and I barelymuddled through. Had Latin and Spanish in school, and I barely muddled through. "I have a Bachelor of Arts in German from Purdue University, but since I graduated many years ago, I had lost some of my vocabulary skills and fluency. I had a good experience with Rosetta Stone in French preparing me for a trip to Paris (my travel companions called me a walking advertisement!), so I decided the bestway to get back in top form was to buy the full German set. I am so pleased with how quickly everthing is coming back to me. I am also amazed at the new online tools, especially the Studio Sessions. I have done two them and was excited to be learning from native speakers. My last session ended up being a private lesson since the two other scheduled students did not join. I had a lovely chat with a woman from Hamburg and she was very complimentary of my German skills (which I appreciated!). I also enjoy the individual games - especially the Buzz Bingo. • Minimum Contract Term – Your Rosetta Stone® TOTALe® online plan requires a term contract commitment of 12 months ("Initial Term").
• Payment Terms - Your TOTALe online license begins upon purchase and continues for 12 months. Under this installment payment plan, your credit card will be charged the initial payment amount (plus any applicable tax based on the total product price) when the order is placed, and then monthly thereafter for the remainder of the Initial Term, with 0% APR and no interest charges from Rosetta Stone.
• Auto-renewal - Your TOTALe online purchase today includes enrollment in the Rosetta Stone TOTALe Automatic Renewal Service, allowing you to conveniently maintain your product subscription and access. By enrolling in this service, you authorize Rosetta Stone to automatically charge your card account after the Initial Term, on a month-to-month basis and at the same monthly payment amount (plus applicable tax), without any additional action by you prior to the expiration of your Initial Term. You may cancel the Rosetta Stone Automatic Renewal Service at any time for any reason, including if you decide to no longer use your Rosetta Stone product, by contacting Customer Service at 1 (877) 260-4289. • Rights After Default - In the event that Rosetta Stone accelerates the maturity of the payment obligations as provided above, you agree that Rosetta Stone shall have the right to terminate your access to the online services provided through the product and require you to pay interest from that date calculated upon the amount legally owed by you under this Contract at an annual rate of interest which is the highest rate allowed by law.

How long does it take to get started?

Start immediately after you receive our confirmation e-mail, typically within five minutes after completing the checkout process.

How long will it take me to learn a language with the Rosetta Stone solution?

It will take about 40–50 hours to complete the content in each level. In addition, for the duration of your online services, you'll enjoy access to two live online sessions per month and an online language-learning community to practice and refine your skills. Remember, each learner is different. Some will use the program on a daily basis, while others will sign in less frequently. The more you use the Rosetta Stone® solution, the more quickly you'll learn a language.

How many computers and users does it work with?

It will work with any computer that meets our system requirements and has a broadband internet connection. Each subscription is limited to one user account.
