Outstanding learning experience
I highly endorse Rosetta Stone as an effective and enjoyable way to learn a new language. The inter-active features of the program are thought provoking and motivating to the student. The course is designed to offer a high level of learning enjoyment. The material is presented in a manner which encourages the student to stay focused on wanting to continue to the next lesson. The best new language course anyone could purchase for home or business self-instruction.

Puedo hablar
I am very pleased with my purchase of Rosetta Stone Spanish. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and minored in Spanish in college. I knew the vocabulary - but I couldn't speak. Rosetta Stone gets you speaking immediately. After getting through 4 of the 5 levels, I'm confident that I will be able to communicate with confidence while I'm in Argentina in March.
The product is not perfect - but it is much better than anything I have ever tried. I'm a very satisfied customer. One more level to go - and then I plan to purchase Portuguese.

Just started using it!
I just started using my product, so I gave it 3 stars since I haven't used it enough yet.
However, I am already PLEASED with this product. I would recommend this for someone who has SOME basic knowledge of Spanish. I must admit for someone with zero knowledge, it might be challenging, and it might be confusing. I knew some Spanish from high school and family members, but I'm no where near fluent. So I felt that this immediately suited me, just because I had some knowledge of what I was practicing.
Also, people must understand that learning a new language REQUIRES WORK. No matter how expensive the product, its still not something that will make you learn automatically. You have to have the desire for it. You will still need to do extra research, you will may need to buy/borrow some supplemental books (nothing fancy, just some books to practice reading), and you may have to immerse yourself in a Spanish community. I feel many of the people who gave low ratings just believed that this program was suppose to automatically wire the new language into their brains.

Spanish
What I like about Rosetta is that I can learn first, at my own pace, second, when I have time and I can review, review, review! As often as I like! Like so many new language learners we truly WANT to learn but the demands of our own day (our work, family, etc.) prevent us from being totally immersed, which would be the ideal way to learn. Rosetta allows me to "immerse" myself as much as I can. I don't expect to be proficient or bi-lingual--I expect to be able to communicate! I have learned, when traveling abroad, that if you are willing to try and speak the language, the native people are delighted!

Benefit
This is an EXCELLENT program! I would love to tell my friends about it.

Rosetta Stone is great because how the pictures and words are presented together seems to me to be very effective at making the information easily memorable.

Great Product - retained what I learned!
Rosetta Stone Spanish (Latin America) was a great purchase. I use it on my iPad and computer. I was able to retain very quickly what I was learning using Rosetta Stone. I feel that I am accomplishing what I wanted to with the RS.

A great tool for re-learning
Although I had studied Spanish in elementary and high school, it had been many years since I used the language. As is often the case, the lack of use had all but eliminated my communications abilities. As our culture has change, I always wanted to regain my skills in using Spanish, but had no real way to effectively do that. My need to re-learn was increased when I went on a mission trip last summer to Honduras and realized how much a better knowledge of the language would have helped - even with things like getting through the airport.
The method of learning with Rosetta Stone is far different than what I knew in school and MUCH more effective. My vocabulary was nearly non-existent when I started the program, and the pictures to associate with words rather than doing a mental translation each time have greatly increased the speed at which I regain my knowledge of the language. Since I am not able to use the product on a daily basis, the frequent reviews are very helpful if not essential. My goal is to continue moving toward being fluent in Spanish, something I think I will do much quicker with this method of learning.

I would use it again!
I have absolutely loved Rosetta Stone! I feel like it started off quickly, and I have been learning more than I imagined. At one point, I realized how much I had learned and noticed that I was only halfway through Level 1. I have no doubt that I will be fluent in no time!! It's an investment, but the installment plan makes it manageable on a college kid budget, and it's definitely worth it!

Excellent Program
I would highly recommend the program. I have very little time in my schedule and it allows me to work at my own pace. I plan to use the French program when I am done with the Spanish

Long lost love
Two years ago, I reconnected with my first boyfriend, after 45 years. I visited him in California and he told me how excited he is about celebrating his Mexican heritage. Since I am of mixed Europan decent, I decided I wanted to celebrate his heritage too. He was totally surprised when three months later I was able to send him a note written in Spanish. Now we are planning our wedding trip to Mexico. Thank you so much Rosetta Stone!

Bridging a Cultural Divide
When I was a little girl, I heard Spanish in my home everyday but my elders wanted me to speak English back to them. My Mother was of the generation that would get punished for speaking Spanish in school. As a result, I wasn't required to learn my native language because my Mother wanted to protect me. Of course, as a child I didn't know the gift that I was being denied and thought that my voice sounded funny if I did attempt to speak Spanish back to my family. Later, when I knew the importance of learning, I forced myself to try to speak to my family but was often met with teasing because I couldn't speak correctly. I had learned what the words sounded like in other people's voices but never my own. I messed up the tenses and switched words around at every effort I made. I have tried to speak and learn with other Spanish people but was often met with the same judgement and criticism of any attempts. They were confused about my story and couldn't understand why I never learned to speak Spanish in my home.
I was fed up and embarrassed with trying to learn from other people and finally purchased the Rosetta Stone system. I have never been so happy learning my native language than now! I have fun every time I go through a lesson. I LOVE to speak to other learners from around the world who never make fun of me or make me feel stupid for not already knowing how to speak Spanish. The games are interactive in a way that is like real life and I'm learning to be patient with myself. It is a gift that I'm giving myself and to my family. I am connecting with them now in a different way and they have become proud of my efforts because they can hear that I am learning and getting better every time I speak with them. I was beginning to give up but Rosetta Stone has given me the gift of communicating with my own people in a way I haven't been able to in the past. I can't get enough of it. I wish I could sit and study for hours everyday. I no longer feel that it is an impossible task. I have never made a more important purchase in my life! Thank you Rosetta Stone for teaching me in a way that is comfortable and fun!
I can't wait to travel to a Spanish speaking country and try out my new skills in the real world!

TAKING TURNS ON THE COMPUTER
My husband and I are both learning Spanish with Rosetta Stone and are so amazed at how much fun we're having. We actually race to get to the computer first each night!
My husband had some exposure to the language before we got started so he is doing fantastic and is so eager to learn more. I had no significant exposure to the language before now but I am learning already and am blown away by how quickly I'm picking this up.
The writing exercises are the most difficult for both of us, but the listening and speaking is coming along nicely. I know the writing will become easier as we practice it more.
We're so happy to have finally invested in this program. I can't wait to see where knowing a second language takes us!

Active Mind/Memory
My wife and I are retired and we love to travel. When I travel I prepare by learning the language of one of the host countries. I also enjoy learning languages as an alternative to crossword puzzles, etc. The reason I have chosen Rosetta Stone is that program offers such a variety of sensory learning tools, particularly visual in addition to auditory. The tutorial sessions allow you to determine how well you are truly doing. The listening disks are also crucial to understanding the many questions you are likely to be asked in another language.

Best Way to Learn a New Language
When my minister husband and I became involved with another church group who are primarily Hispanic, we both wanted to learn the Spanish language as quickly as possible.
Our Hispanic friends are bilingual, so we converse with them mostly in English; however, many of their congregation speak little or no English. We want to be able to converse with them, too, and also to be able to understand their church services when we attend.
My husband purchased a computer program that included audio CD's to play in the car. I also purchased a few books to help me learn. We were learning very little.
We hesitated to buy Rosetta Stone, because we knew it was expensive. I checked it out, anyway, on the web site and tried the demo. What a difference between Rosetta Stone and the program my husband had purchased! I showed the demo to my husband, and he was convinced to let me purchase the program for Spanish (Latin America). It was also on sale for a lower price, which helped.
I think what makes Rosetta Stone stand out above other such programs is the way that we are totally immersed in the language we are learning. The games and Studio Sessions are not only helpful, but they're also a lot of fun. The TOTALe program is superior. It helps to be able to chat and play games with other learners. The Studio Session moderators have all been friendly and helpful -- and some have a great sense of humor, which adds a bit more fun to the sessions.
I am up to Level 3 now, and I'm able to communicate somewhat in Spanish. My Hispanic friends all tell me that I'm learning quite fast. This is encouraging, because I am 65 years old, so I don't retain new information as well as when I was much younger. But I have the desire to learn, and this keeps me logging on daily to the program.
My husband told me he is proud of how well I'm doing. He also said that when I'm all finished with this program, he wouldn't mind if I wanted to buy the French program. I studied French in high school, but remember very little of what I was taught back then. After three years, I was still unable to converse in French!
We're never too old to learn! So, I'm 65 years old. Learning new languages is a good way to exercise my brain to help prevent dementia as I age. And Rosetta Stone is the most fun way I can think of to do it!
Thank you!

So excited
Purchasing Spanish (Latin America) Rosetta Stone was one of the best investments I have made thus far in my life. I have taken many classes in Spanish but could never grasp the language. With Rosetta stone in a few short lessons I was forming simple sentences!

Best Interactive Learning!
This program of reading, listening, speaking, writing, and interaction with other students and teachers on-line is amazing! I am fully immersed in my new language on so many levels. I love the way the program builds on the vocabulary as you progress. I like the fact that you can learn at your own pace. The program is a lot of fun, especially with all of the games and other tools that Rosetta provides me as a student. I look forward to each and every session!

Is there anything else that is this complete
The thought and planning that went into the designing of this program is abundantly evident by the results.
I have use other products, even taken foreign languages in a structured class setting, and in the end could not read, write, and speak as well as a I am able to do now. This is only after a few sessions. I can not wait to see the end results upon completion. I am certain this will be my only way to learn other languages in the future.

glad I got this
I have taken conversational Spanish at the local community college at least 3 times. I never recall enough to be able to actually use it. This system allows me to make visual and auditory associations to vocabulary development so it sticks with me longer. I also get to identify pictures from spoken word; speak the word(s) and get immediate feedback; play games to increase retention. Lots of fun ways to learn. Finally, the "face to face" interaction with the person I would identify as a coach was very helpful in assisting me in identifying where in a spoken conversation I still needed practice.

easy to use
My wife and I got Rosetta Stone about a moth ago and are using it every day. We enjoy how they introduce words and practice them. Everyting that Rosetta Stone say is true. We are starting to speak a foreign language and remembering it!!

Helpful Learning Tool
It was nice to finally see the yellow box in the mail and have the tools to help me start learning Spanish. Once you start, it is hard to stop. Using Rosetta Stone, I have become more comfortable having a conversation with our Spanish speaking employees, and they have taken notice of my new language skills. Thank you.

Progressing
Spanish Latin America has been an adventure for me as a Senior Citizen. My sister's family is Latino, and in our many visits, when they begin chatting in Spanish, someone always let me know what was being discussed. Through the years, I had halfheartedly tried a night course and tapes to learn the language, with no luck. Your Rosetta course, however, is intriguing. It is slow going for me, with lots of repeating lessons, but there is definite progress. I enjoy playing the games, and soon will participate verbally online. Keep up the good work!

I Finally Gave In.
I researched the best way to learn Spanish. Everything pointed to Rosetta Stone being by far the best way to go. However, I am thrifty (some say cheap) and I didn't want to spend that much money. I tried going to a Spanish class in the evenings at my community college. I bought a book that taught Spanish and studied it religiously. After two years, my Spanish was still pretty bad. Oh, I could tell you the colors in Spanish, count to ten and ask for the bathroom but that was about it. And my accent was so bad, no one could understand me when I was on vacation in South American and I couldn't understand them. After less than a month on Rosetta Stone, I can carry on a limited conversation. If I had bought Rosetta Stone two years ago, I would be fluent in Spanish today. At my current progress, I estimate I will be able to speak Spanish by the end of a year, if not before.

Good program but...
If you have some basic grounding in Spanish this is a great way to learn vocabulary and speaking but it would help to have a section to explain rules tenses basics of grammar etc.Just some good old fashioned drill in conjugation, and basic rules. Also a dictionary to look up words that it's hard to get from the context.it is really hard to understand some of the structural rules of a language without some explanation.
