Loving It This software has proven to work just how it is advertised too. I'm enjoying it and the response from the software on pronunciation is great. Hopefully, when I return to Spain and my friends there, they will be delighted with my process. I still have a ways to go before I can hold a completed conversation without errors. November 18, 2010
a more natural way to learn I've tried various language CDs and podcasts over the past two years to brush up on Italian and learn Spanish, but didn't feel a sense of immersion or satisfactory learning. I've been using the Rosetta software for about three weeks now, and feel that the combination of speaking, listening, typing and selecting, without the use of English, is a natural way to absorb the language. It's been easier to blurt out spanish phrases, and I don't feel like I'm translating to English. Am excited to keep learning. November 8, 2010
Problem-Let's see if they post it I purchased the Level 1-2-3 of Spanish (Spain). First part, great. Then after unit 1 completed (when I was instructed that "grass" was "hierba") and in to lesson 3 of unit 2, I am instructed that "grass" is "pasto". This seems to be a problem with the program. While I have learned from a friend from Spain, that both are correct, it would have been nice to be instructed that way from the beginning. I have a "favorite" saved on my internet to look up words in spanish, because the program does this. Let's see if they post my review and how long it will stay up. September 7, 2010
Spanish 1 2 & 3 Review I purchased the Spanish (Spain) 1 2 & 3 set. I found that the first unit (on Level 1) was great, just like being in first grade. Then Unit 2 was not so great, like being in third grade. So I became a bit discouraged. But I will forge onward. I believe in this product enough to recommend it. It would be nice if I had known that the jump from one unit to the other was so difficult, perhaps I would not have been discouraged. April 23, 2010
This program breaks down the language learning process into small steps. You can take your time or speed through multiple lessons in one sitting. It's great! April 11, 2010
PR 2010 In 2008 I made a one-week visit to Puerto Rico with my college buddy, Adaly. We stayed with his family in the town of Rincon. The food was great, the sights were awesome, but my ears were confused. I couldn't pick up a single word of what any locals were saying. (My last Spanish lesson was in '98 in eighth-grade, so I wasn't picking ANYTHING up) Needless to say, my friend became my translator. At least I wasn't completely lost! A year later, Adaly offers again: a trip to PR. I remembered part one with all the confusion. Part II would be different. They say Rosetta Stone this, Rosetta Stone that; I wasn't sure, though, because I remember those programs my eighth-grade teacher had me using. They failed, and me along with them. But I figured, with Rosetta Stone's warranty, I have nothing to lose. I got it and the thing works, it just does the job. PR 2010 was a hit. All Adaly's pretty cousins could finally understand me (okay, and his parents too). And I could understand them. I was a big hit. Everybody was surprised. I was no Shakespeare of Espanol, but, hey, I communicated and understood things. Plus I haven't even finished all three levels. So I know there is more to come. Simply, Rosetta Stone is not a pain to use and it's sleek. I'm still a student with all this work to do, but it was easy to find time for Rosetta Stone. I've only been using it for 7-8months and I feel ready to be a conquistador of the Spanish Language. I'm definitely going to purchase the last two levels. The thing works! April 11, 2010
Great product for the whole family I have become a huge fan of Rosetta Stone. In the past I have had a lot of difficulty learning another language and could never quite pick one up. This method, however, definitely makes it much easier and I am learning quicker that I ever thought I would. Our entire family (including our 3 & 5 year olds) have used the product. I really like that the program periodically has you review previous lessons so that you don't forget what you have already learned. I would highly recommend this product to anyone! April 10, 2010
Entertainment while Learning I truly enjoy learning with Rosetta Stone. I catch myself laughing when I make goofy pronuncation mistakes and having a sense of accomplishment when I have a great lesson. I am going to Spain this summer and I am very eager to use what I have learned from Rosetta Stone. I feel confident this will be beneficial in many aspects of my life! April 8, 2010
¡Muy bueno! What kind of experience have I had with learning español the Rosetta Stone way? ¡Muy bueno! With this system's version of the immersion method, I have learned quite a bit of basic Spanish already, and I look forward to learning more and more in the months to come. If I had more time to devote to it, I'm quite sure I'd be speaking Spanish really well in only a matter of months...say maybe within a year's time. However, due to my really hectic schedule, I'm taking it a little slower. Still, the progress is coming along, and if I hang in there, I have no doubt that I can eventually achieve language fluency. I studied French in high school and college, and I was pleased to reach fluency learning that language the traditional textbook method used in most schools. I had excellent teachers and good learning materials, and I excelled as a result. I have not used that language a great deal over the years, but I feel sure that with a refresher course, I could resume my ability to converse en français. However, these days, in my part of the country, the Spanish language is used with much more frequency than French by far, and my preschool daughter is actually beginning to learn Spanish words and phrases, and I have always wanted to learn Spanish too, so this seemed to be a great time to try Rosetta Stone. This program teaches me Spanish in a different way than I learned French many years ago. While I have nothing against traditional classroom methods, they would not be practical for me as a busy business woman and mother. With Rosetta Stone, I simply turn on my computer for a learning session and am bombarded with beautiful images and the sounds of native speakers and I start actually thinking in Spanish while I'm participating in the exercises. Then, when I'm driving around town doing errands or driving long distance on a business trip, I turn on the CD in my car to reinforce what I learned on the computer. There is no traditional translation into the English words, though, so it is much like learning one's first language as a child. I kind of skip a step. I highly recommend Rosetta Stone to people who are in a situation like mine--wanting to learn another language in and interesting and meaningful way without taking the time to enroll in traditional language classes. Two thumbs up for Rosetta Stone! ¡Muy bueno! April 8, 2010
Great Way to Learn I really enjoy the method and style of the program. It really is a great way to learn a foreign language. My only problem has been that it does not run well on my laptop. April 8, 2010
Great Program! Rosetta Stone is easy and fun! I really enjoy learning a new language as I prepare for a trip to Spain. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get through the lessons. It takes dedication to get through them. April 7, 2010
The biggest problem I have is there is no help with verbs. Also you are given new words with no clue that they are coming and therefore most of the time you have to guess what the answer is. I have yet to learn a normal hello.I thought that you would learn converstation first. April 7, 2010
¡Las mejores materias educativas! Great for a base understanding and is easy to use. Materials are focused in developing both vocabulary and pronunciation. Would use these materials to learn a core understanding in Spanish, prior to traveling or taking any formal classes . ¡El mejor del mejor! April 7, 2010
Fun Way to Learn I'm enjoying learning Spanish using this interactive program. Great to have immediate feedback. Pictures are fun and hearing the language very, very important. So far, the Lessons studied have been review for me. I think that it might be difficult if I had no previous Spanish education. As it is, it's an excellent review. I especially like the extra help with pronunciation, which is my greatest challenge. April 7, 2010
Love this method Language classes are painfully boring. This software is fun! Add to that the way it is broken up into manageable time intervals and it is a home run! April 7, 2010
Very enjoyable Do not have a computer at home, so can't work at it as much as I would like. My company is embarking on business in Mexico and I want to be a step ahead of the game. I began the Level 3 today in Spanish. I find it most fulfilling and enjoyable. April 7, 2010
great purchase My company is very happy with our purchase form Rosetta Stone. The employee whom this was purchased for has already started to use his new gained knowledge of the language in his meetings abroad. I would recommend Rosetta Stone to anyone interested in learning a foreign language. April 7, 2010
Gift of Language My daughter, 6 years old, loves languages. She is fascinated with the languages known by her mother, and intensely wants to learn herself. Without the immersion opportunity of living in a different country, learning another language is difficult at best. Rosetta Stone enables me to teach my child several languages without the expense, and time involved in living in another country long enough to adsorb such an experience. Thank you Rosetta Stone for the gift you have given my daughter. German, French, Spanish, next ... April 6, 2010
Rosetta Stone review I enjoy the immersion part of the program, as this allows me to become comfortable with the Spanish language. August 21, 2009
Rosetta Stone is the best way to learn a language Don't be afraid to spend the few bucks. Think of all the money we spend each day on nonsense. For a while, I was hesitant on making the purchase of Rosetta Stone. I didn't want to spend the money, and afterwards regret it. After buying Rosetta Stone Spanish, right away I began learning. I have been out of school for over 15 years. This is the easiest way to learn. It would of been nice if school was taught this way. Rosetta starts you off nice and slow. And it's fun. It's not the same thing over and over. I am not the smartest person. I was amazed on how fast you learn through pictures and different scenarios. Not the boring way of trying to learn from books, or sitting in class listening to a teacher talk. Which would cost more, and you would pretty much walk out of the class at the end of the semester being able to say the word hola. And that's about it. In Rosetta you want to keep going, after a while you can't believe all the progress you have achieved. Not only that, it's at your own pace. No pressure. To keep this short, I can only say if you really want to learn a language, buy Rosetta Stone. If you still are not sure, they even offer you your money back within a certain amount of time. The most efficient way to learn a language. I am highly impressed with how Rosetta Stone enables you to learn without giving you translations. It is the most natural way to learn a language. I have gotten A’s in two Spanish college-level courses and still I cannot speak or understand Spanish. It is because the class taught me Spanish how I like to say “backwards”. It taught me grammar, sentence structure and terminology before I even could understand or could speak the language; which is crazy because when I was a child I did not learn English by memorizing a bunch of terms and sentence structure, you first learn a language by sight and sound and by deductive reasoning. Rosetta Stone teaches you Spanish “forward” not “backwords”. After one lesson, I was in a Spanish restaurant I heard the waiter say “arroz” (which means rice in Spanish) without even thinking about what arroz meant, I knew it, it was as if she was speaking my native language, English. I was so excited I almost cried! That is a testament to the efficiency of this product. It is also fun so you WILL want to learn. My friend’s 10yr old daughter did four lessons back-to-back and she learned so much and just thought it was a game. Although it is fun and may at times seem like a game, you will, without doubt, learn the language very fast and efficiently. July 26, 2009
Challenging but effective I've tried other methods of learning Spanish, but have been unsuccessful. Rosetta Stone is a course that challenges you to keep moving forward. I'm happy to report that my understanding of the language is progressing quickly. I truly believe I will be communicating effectively by the time I complete the course. July 22, 2009
Better than Spanish Class I think the RosettaStone technology will change how we educate in a variety of subjects in the future. The integration of different learning styles is fantastic (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and the pairing of words and pictures is powerful, much like how classical conditioning works during childhood. We are learning and we don't even know it. My 11 year old said he learned more in 20 minutes is RosettaStone then he did all year in Spanish class. Maybe our public schools should take a lesson from RosettaStone. For once I am encouraged to continue. I have always had difficulty learning foreign languages and now my confidence has increased. I am excited to keep learning. Thank you. July 22, 2009
I started the Rosetta Stone Spanish course in April and visited Spain in July. Both my husband and I were thrilled that I was able to converse. It helps that the course is fun and entertaining to work with and I was amazed that while in Spain, I wasn't having to think English to Spanish, as the program gets you to think in Spanish. It really works! July 21, 2009
Very helpful I purchased this set for two reasons. First, I wanted to "brush up" on the Spanish that I had learned while in high school and college. Second, I wanted to build on that foundation and take my knowledge of the Spanish language to another level. My wife and I made plans to travel abroad and I wanted to be able to communicate effectively. This program helped me to accomplish both goals. And one of the things I like most about the program is that during the process it re-exposes you to earlier lessons without having to manually do it yourself. I would recommend this purchase to anyone that wants to quickly and effectively learn the Spanish language. July 20, 2009
Positive Review Rosetta Stone provides a unique way to learn, or re-learn, any language. I personally bought Rosetta Stone to brush up on my Spanish, and I am continually impressed with the variation demonstrated in each interactive lesson. I highly recommend this engaging product to anyone interested in truly learning another language, particularly those bored with the standard definition-based approaches. July 15, 2009
Rosetta Stone is great. It challenges your concentration which means you have to stay attentive. It's also great because I could manage my time according to what best works for me. I think my next message here might actually be in Spanish :) July 14, 2009
Spanish Easy to deal with, self study turned out to be really easy. Will soon study other languages. July 13, 2009
amazed I had high school and college exposure to a foreign language. After being away from the language for thirty plus years I was really "rusty". The Rosetta Stone program helped pull this memory back to today's world. I believe the learning from the Rosetta system is better than the classroom teaching I originally had due to the native speakers and the everyday conversation they use for learning. I am extremely satisfied with the product and the results I've seen in my language development. July 13, 2009
Great learning tool! This is a wonderful program that incorporates reading, writing, spelling, grammer and vocabulary. The pictures are beautiful and the connection between the words, pictures and context is so helpful. As someone who doesn't pronounce the words correctly, I find the program really helps me to do so. I am very happy with this and recommend it to anyone interested in learning another language. July 13, 2009
