The best way to learn
I am currently in college as a French major with a Russian minor and I am very familiar with the classroom method of language learning. I have used Rosetta Stone to learn French in the past and it worked better than I could have imagined a computer program could ever work. (Honestly, better than my college courses.)
When I decided I wanted to learn Russian, I declared my minor and thought I would just learn in school. I didn't think Rosetta Stone could teach such a difficult language with so many grammatical rules, but because I was so satisfied in the past, I decided to give it a chance before I started taking classes to see which method would be more effective.
It worked incredibly. Before I knew it I was able to form sentences and speak confidently. I have even had conversations with native Russian speakers at my job who tell me I have a great accent. My college courses, of course, were also very helpful, but they move very slow spending a lot of time on the same material and they can be very awkward when speaking in front of other students. Also, they don't really provide the same level of confidence as Rosetta Stone.
I will be using Rosetta Stone again to learn Polish in the near future and I highly recommend it to anyone. If you want to learn Russian, or any other language, Rosetta Stone is really the best way to do it.

Truly Immersive
Rosetta Stone has truly immersed me in another language. While I wish the software offered some English instruction around grammar, the software works very well overall.

Worth every penny
To start - I had heard the reviews and seen numberous ads talking about how it's the fastest way to learn a language but no one I knew had used the program. Well, as "life" would have it I needed to learn Russian. Not knowing how to even say hello, I started from the very begining. I was surprised at how quickly I was learning and how easy it was to remember the different words. I bought the entire course and I know without a doubt once I finish the program I will be fluent. Take my word - it's worth every penny!

Amazing Program!!
I'm 15 years old and can speak excellent Russian thanks to Rosetta Stone. My father and his family is from Russia and I have always wanted to communicate with them in Russian. Thanks to a program which made learning so easy and so enjoyable I was able to grasp the language quickly. My accent gradually improved because of the pronunciation training included in the program. Vocabulary learned by association with pictures truly ingrained the words into my head. I sometimes find myself saying "Sabaka"(the Russian word for dog) when I see one or maybe even counting. I have learned other languages without Rosetta Stone for ten years and it has not even come close to the fluency I speak with in Russian. This program could not be more effective and I would highly recommend it.

Russian
It was interesting and fun and for most I would recommend the program. It didn't work well for me as I'm trained to learn languages in another fashion.

I love my Rosetta Stone
When I think that three months ago I couldn't read, speak or understand a word of Russian to where I am now, I can't recommend Rosetta Stone enough to anyone that wants to learn a new language. The software is so easy to use, and takes you through step by step, the same way you learned how to speak when you were a child. Plus there's the added feature of neat games, stories to read and free sessions with live speakers. Outside of an expensive classroom setting, I can't imagine a better way to learn a new language. Thank you Rosetta Stone!!

It needs a vocabulary list
I have almost completed the 1st section of the lessons and I am very disapointed at this point. In many cases the pictures do not assit with understanding what is being said. I purchased a vocabulary book to assit me in the lessons. Having a quick reference vocab list wuld be a great deal of help in order to figure out what I am supposed to understand. The writing sections are a joke...for the first couple lessons there were clues that helped and then nothing. At this point I just completely skip the writing because I have no idea how to spell the words. Skipping is better than spending an hour on a 5 minute lesson and getting them all wrong. Overall it has been a very poor experience and I am very much considering returning the pack and getting my money back.

Review
I have just begun to use this product but I think that it is a good learning tool.

I have liked to do conjugation charts and things like that early on. There is a lot of focus on pronunciation and recognizing words early on, which I appreciate. But I felt like there was not enough focus on understanding pronouns or verbs and how sentences are constructed. We are expected to know which form of a verb to use, but we are not taught. I do not like that at all.
I have also had a lot of difficulty with retention because it feels like you go over something a couple of times and then don't return to it for a while. I am still only on the first level of learning, but I would have liked some of these things earlier on in the lessons.
