Latin Level 1 with Audio Companion™ 5 5 9 9
greatest language learning tool I bought this Rosetta Stone for my son. He is going to law school in the fall and wanted to learn Latin before attending. He found th program to be very easy and he is ready to move up to other levels. He is hoping that down the line he will learn the grammatical rules and how to read Latin. In the meantime he is fluent in what he is being taught. I know this experience will give him an advantage in learning and understaning termaology in law that have its roots in Latin. I can't wait to get the French version. I am retiring from teaching. I am a speech Pathologist and this is the present I am planning on getting myself. April 8, 2010
Audio Companion Rocks!!! I started Latin 1 a few week ago, but I just now starting using the audio companion. I'm now asking myself why I waited! It is the best way to reinforce what is being learned. The best part is my young son is able to "jump start" his Latin. He enjoys speaking along with me while we are listening in the car. Although he has no idea what he is saying he is mastering pronunciation. When he is old enough for Rosetta Stone I believe it will be that much easier for him to learn Latin. I look forward to mastering Latin myself and moving on to another language. I can see this could become addicting! April 7, 2010
Latin Level 1 My son and I "play" this together. At 9, he loves the challenge and the game-like quality of the lessons. He also likes to have his own account and to see if he can "beat" me making progress. April 7, 2010
Our first, but not last experience with RosettaSt We ordered Latin Level 1 for our son who was starting at a college preparatory school where he needed to begin Latin II to be on-track with other 9th graders. After a few weeks of RosettaStone, not only was he prepared, but, according to his teacher, he has surpassed many of the Latin II students who had taken Latin I the year prior. Soon we will be ordering Spanish (Latin America) Levels 1-5 Homeschool Edition for the entire family. Mitch T. April 7, 2010
Better than a face to face course I am so thrilled that I bought this product. I have always wanted to learn Latin and but didn't have the time to sign up for a course. I had tried others- for Italian and Japanese, which had been only minimally effective and quickly forgotten after the 4 months. I have been using this product for about 6 weeks and already I am almost finished and feel like I have really learned. I have accomplished such a basic grasp of the language and practicing is actually fun that I want to do it. I could not have done this without Rosetta Stone. March 12, 2009
What Latin on RS can do for you.... I became curious about Latin many years ago when taking a Medical Terminology class in college. I then realized why many people fail basic education: they have not been taught to understand our English language! Although I currently have no one to verbalize Latin with, I am amazed how after only one unit I have automatically begun to "think" in Latin....and the beauty of it is that a door of understanding has been blown open. Whether it be reading Spanish captioning on tv, reading and understanding the names of plants in a seed catalog, "getting" why we Americans use certain words, or just the joy of having the opportunity to debate when someone says "What? Latin is a DEAD language....." My original goal was to learn Italian, but I decided to buy the Latin program to prepare myself. I highly recommend this Rosetta Stone product if you are interested in the Romance languages......I believe I will be able to move in any direction I please when I finish my Level I. My only suggestion to make this product better would be the ability to download the actual language cd onto my computer for use. I am afraid my language disc will become damaged by the amount of handling it requires to use the product. March 12, 2009
Latin This program is strong. It allows you to take learning at your own pace while at the same time challenging you to do more. I completely recommend it without hesitation. March 11, 2009
Who Would've Known?!? Before i purchased my Rosetta Stone Latin Level 1, I was learning/researching through various websites, bibles, music, and texts, for guides on the language but in the end nothing really stuck in my head, to the point it was frustrating, in the long run I wasted about 6 months of my time just trying to learn basic words, but then I got a recomendation from my mom's boyfriend to give Rosetta Stone a try because he used it to prepare himself before going to Iraq and he said it was a simple. cheap, and quick way to acheive high standards in a language, he said it was his guide to communicating with his Iraqui troops and it was successful in issuing commands without a translator. For those who have tried Rosetta Stone, they would all agree that the voice overs, and the helpful pictures were an easy way to teach both visual and auditory learners. As of right now i'm still working on my Latin language, but im definetly planning on getting another set from Rosetta Stone, maybe japanese. Anyways All-in-all if you havent learned a language, then you surely havent tried Rosetta and if your smart you would, it saves money and time for those who dont have any available. For a computer program with no physical guy you would think it wouldnt be successful, but i can gurantee you it was, i mean who would've known?!? March 11, 2009
Amazing Program Rosetta Stone has been an amazing tutor in my quest to learn Latin. Combined with a good grammar book; this has been ideal for my independent study. March 11, 2009
