Good at learning to speak
this software is good for you to learn how to speak the language but it doesnt really explain how to read and write...

I tried learning Farsi on my own but I failed time after time. It wasn't until Rosetta Stone that it began to stick. I am finally getting a grasp on this beautiful, difficult language.

This product rocks
The Persian (Farsi) level one is the most advanced and practical way of learning Persian. I have used Rosetta Stone products in the past but nothing compares to Totale! Everything about this product rocks and it saved my life a number of times, well at least a little embarrassment, on my last deployment overseas.

Great product, too expensive
I have been using the level 1 Farsi module. It's an excellent product -- fully immersive so that you really learn in a natural way.
The only down side is the expense.
Definitely worth a try if you need to learn a new language.

Best out there!
This program helps you learn in such a natural way. It challenges you and then surprises you that you've learned so much! Especially in a language that I can't even read the alphabet, I am impressed with Rosetta Stone. Definitely recommended!

This is working!
I once needed to learn some Japanese. I bought 3 or 4 cd programs and enrolled in a community college Japanese course. All horrid! I had been a French language teacher for 15 years prior to my extended trip to Japan, and was appalled at the poor pedagogical approaches of these products and of the course. Through it all I managed to learn woefully little useful Japanese and was generally frustrated.
I recently met the woman of my dreams with whom I am now engaged. She is from Iran and I, therefore, am anxious to learn Persian. Enter Rosetta Stone. While I may not have kept the most consistent schedule of working through lessons, I amaze myself at what I know now of this very different language.
The pedagogical method applied by Rosetta Stone blows away those near-worthless Japanese programs I tried. The uses of inference and the progressive addition of language elements, and the alternation between listening, speaking, recognition and production are logical, intuitive, and user-friendly.
The most difficult part of learning Persian is reading the alphabet, what with the letters changing forms depending on where they occur in a sentence. Still, the careful piecemeal approach of Rosetta Stone is leading me, slowly but surely, toward what will be a huge accomplishment in my ability to read in this very foreign language.
In all, I am highly satisfied with manner and content of the language that Rosetta Stone is teaching me. It is the best product on the market for this type of self-directed learning. I do indeed recommend it to friends and collleagues.

A great way to re-learn forgotten languages!
Rosetta Stone may be great for learning brand-new languages, but my experience is only in re-learning a language I had forgotten. When I was an infant my Persian relatives would speak only in Farsi to me and my first words were in Farsi. But when I entered public school there was pressure on me to speak only English.
Now, with the help of Rosetta Stone, I have been re-learning Farsi. I've begun picking up on words and phrases used by my father on the telephone, and we can now have simple conversations about chores or other family members in Farsi. Without Rosetta Stone I doubt I would have been able to re-learn this language, but with the help of this comprehensive software and my now eager to teach father, I'm finally gaining back a part of my life I had though I had lost forever. Thank you Rosetta Stone!

Persian (Farsi) Review
The product is econmical and sometimes you can even get a discount. It is definately a lot cheaper than taking classes. It is convenient, especially if you have a tight schedule, limited time, you don't have to worry about leaving your home, and you can take a break whenever you like and pick up where you left off. The program is easy to use and the visual graphics are wonderful. I don't have a lot of time and I only want to learn how to communicate in Farsi not read or write, so Rosetta Stone allows you to skip through sections that are applicable to your needs. If you were to enroll in a Farsi class, you have to learn to read, write, and communicate; you don't have any options. Before you buy Rosetta Stone, you have to make sure that you are motivated and disciplined and will actually commit yourself to studying every day. This program was designed for people who truly want to learn the language and will dedicate the time to learn.

Best Language Program
I have tried alot of Persian language tutorials. Some are very basic and some are very technical.
I needed a sound speaking and listening tool so that I could converse with my wife's family.
Rosetta Stone from the start provide complete immersion into the language. The program is unconventional yet easy to follow. I was speaking within a few days. Granted I had been married for 7 years and had heard alot of Farsi. using the program, I quickly picked up words and phrases. Now I need to work better on my pronounciation (which Rosetta has).
I am hoping to try out my new Farci when I travel to LA for a family get togther at the end of June.
Great tool and I should have bought it sooner.

Surprisingly Impressive
I spent five years taking German courses in HS and college and was fairly fluent. I feel like in using this product for just a couple of months, that I have a better grasp of Farsi than I did after a whole year to two years in German class. The system they use is phenomenal.
