NOT for Beginners!
All those squiggly lines of Arabic mean nothing to me. This is not for beginners! This is for people who already understand the Arabic alphabet.
I also think it would be incredibly helpful to offer phonetics - my ears can barely grab these strange and foreign sounds! I can't make out where one word is beginning and the other is ending!

Great for the Whole Family
We are very pleased with the Rosetta Arabic. On top of our list of reasons, We LOVE the iPhone app, which our kids use regularly to practice pronunciation on the go. Rosetta challenges you to discover meaning of words by making connections through association, not just translation. The graphics are top notch. Our one huge disappointment has been the long delay in getting Arabic on the iPad. When this finally happens, we will be able to give Rosetta Arabic a 10.

Alphabet ?
I was really excited to get this product, it has been a dream of mine to learn Arabic. That being said, when I first put the cd in I was a bit shocked to realize that what was deemed a 'beginner' course didn't even start with an overview of the alphabet. In addition, the phrases that they introduce you to are connected to photos that are supposed to explain what exactly it means, but the photos are vague. A girl drinking a glass of milk? I don't know if the phrase explains 'wanting a drink' or 'little girl drinking milk' or what ... I would have appreciated a translation of the phrase so I could at least know what it means, specifically. I understand it's an immersion program, but a beginner course deserves the option, at least. I just wish I had known that you needed to know Arabic to start the beginner lessons.

Amazing Rosetta Stone
The voice print feature is great for getting pronunciation right. But in Arabic a study of the alphabet is necessary before starting Rosetta Stone.

Excellent way to learn a new language
I bought Rosetta Stone Arabic to help me in my job search, because I wanted to work in North Africa and needed to know the language.
I'm only on Level One so far, but I already feel like I'm learning a ton. While I haven't learned your typical travel phrases (Where is the bathroom? Do you speak English?), I really like the immersion style of learning that Rosetta Stone employs. It's a little difficult learning a language with a completely different alphabet (I tried the French free trial, and that was easier for me) but the program seems to be set up to help you learn not only words and phrases, but also the new alphabet and pronunciation and writing as well, so even though it takes more time, you get a really good understanding of the complete language that you are learning.
I bought Rosetta Stone because I figured it would be cheaper than hiring a tutor, and I have to say that I am completely satisfied. Their customer service in particular is excellent; they have a service rep who has been in constant communication with me, finding out ways that she can help me get the most out of the program and encouraging me when I get lazy and stop for a while.
Overall, I think it is a great way to learn a new language, particularly if you don't have the time or money to attend classes or get a tutor. I would definitely recommend this to other people.

Best Way to Learn
I enjoy the Rosette Stone program because it gives me the freedom to learn on my schedule. It also it an entertaining and fun way to learn a language. The program introduces new learning items and then reinforces them so you learn quickly and thoroughly.

door opener
I purchased the Arabic Level one and was amazed at how fast I began to learn to read and understand the language. The breakdown of sounds and spelling was perfect for me as a beginner. I plan on using what I have learned on a trip to the Middle East. Thanks Rosetta Stone for giving me the tools to start a great adventure.

early reward
I haven't been using Rosetta Stone for long, but I bought it, and have enjoyed the initial sessions, because of the immediate incentive. I get most of the exercises right! I can speak Arabic! The machine says so with a great, big, green check mark and a happy 'ding-dong' tone!
However, I can't say anything useful yet. "The girl is drinking;" "The man is running;" "The boys are reading"? How about, "Hello", or "thank you"? How about, "Excuse me, please, but I don't speak Arabic. Do you speak English?"? Or, "Excuse me, please. Could you tell me where the train station is?"?
I do think if I stick with it I'll learn the language, but this is definitely not the program for someone who wants to learn a few useful phrases for travel. (They have announced a phone app to launch later this year that will do that, however.) It also requires plenty of self-motivation -- you've got to turn off the You Tube, put down that magazine, ignore the laundry and sit down at your desk, put on the headphone, and launch the lesson.

Arabic not for me
I think your method of teaching is marvelous and if I decide to learn a simpler language, I would order it from you. At my age, (73) Arabic was too difficult for me. To rate this accurately, I did not use my experience specifically, but the overall product.

From a D to an B
I purchased the Arabic Language for my daughter that's taking the language in college. Best gift ever! She was having difficulty with the class even after having a tutor; group study; and teacher help. Because the language is very difficult to begin with, she just wasn't doing well in the class. Her teacher recommended purchasing Rosetta, stating a lot of her previous students used it and saw huge improvements. My daughter told me about it, and I secretly purchased it as a Christmas gift. A month after working with the program she has blossomed - going from a D to a B. Thank you Rosetta

Great Introduction
We purchased Arabic Level 1 to help us prepare for an upcoming trip to Morocco. The program is intuitive, which does a decent job at mimicing immersion.
So far I feel as if I am learning well. Two points of interest: 1) Sometimes I feel as if the voice recognition is a little off. 2) Unless the focus is on the script most Americans will ignore it b/c we can't read it. This is unlike other languages that use roman alphabet since we can recognize the characters. Thus, I've found that I have a difficult time learning the script. However, for my purposes this is less important since I merely want a basic verbal understanding to communicate on our trip.
Overall, though, I already feel like I'm more prepared for my trip and will be able to communicate on a basic level with the people that I encounter.

Still learning.
It's a bit hard to learn, but Aarabic is a hard language to break through.

a better way
I believe any learning process for a second language should start with how to greet people, say please, thank you and etc.; words that you would use on first meeting. This software does not do that.

Level 1 Helpful with Prior Knowledge
As an ESL instructor, I have used RS with various classes; however, I realized a big weakness of RS in beginning Arabic level one myself --- it does not begin with the alphabet. Therefore my experience was completely auditory because the Arabic script on the screen made no since because I hadn't learned it yet. I would recommend this program only to those who had taken a introductory writing course in the language, and, therefore, could read the words on the screen.

Help for the Brain Damaged!
I have problems with short term memory due to past skull fractures and concussions. Rosetta Stone actually works for me. I'm able to recognize some spoken Arabic and can remember some words, more than some actually! I have to repeat lessons and take it slow but surprisingly its been helpful. Considering the fact that Arabic is so much different from English that saying alot!

Be careful with Arabic
With Arabic, the central fact to know is that written Arabic is a very different beast then spoken Arabic. This method as I tried it, is quite good for learning a language that can be written but isn't well understood by natives. For English speakers, it is the equivalent of knowing Shakespearian English and trying to communicate in the US. Arabic is doubly tough for requiring different words for speaking and writing. If you really need to speak to people there, or in my case to communicate with family, learn the dialect of the area you hope to visit.

Arabic Level 1
I am thoroughly enjoying Arabic 1. I am learning for business purposes, but have decided it will be a life-long pursuit. Arabic is quite a challenging language as it has no Latin roots like English does, therefore there's nothing to relate to. The visual references make the learning fun and less frustrating. It's such a logical way to learn a new language.

Rosetta Stone is a Fine Tool
I've used Rosetta Stone for Spanish and am now using it for Arabic. I think it's a great tool to gain a basic understanding and learn the basic accent of a new language. The only weakness I found with it is it's ability to help one in speaking a language. I quickly learned to discern what I hear, but still lack speaking skills because I think RS is focused less so on speaking and moreso on recognition. I don't know if I'd ever buy all three levels, but I'd definitely say it's worth the purchase for at least level 1.

Easy as 1,2,3
Ever since I was young I have always loved languages. I believed that knowing a different language will get me to a better place as well as sound cool. I first heard of Rosetta Stone one evening in my dorm room while watching commercials before going to class, when I heard the commercial talking about being able to learn a new language as if you were learning your native language, I was astonished and wanted to learn more. I logged on to the website and tried the free demo for Turkish and since then the love for Rosetta Stone has grown. Learning through Rosetta Stone is like learning from your parents at a very young age. It is fun and exciting, and leaves you wanting more after just the firs lesson. In the past two weeks I have learned more than I thought I did because unlike other programs that I wont mention in which I have paid money for, the results were not the same. I cannot express how much better Rosetta Stone has made my life and understanding of the Arabic language. If you have not yet gotten a Rosetta Stone language CD for any language you would like to learn, than I challenge you to find a better one because I sure tried and happily did not succeed. Don’t take my word for it just go out and experience this phenomenon of learning and in a matter of weeks you will be talking with your friends from any where in the world in their native tongue.

Arabic Level 1
Tough at first being immersed into the program but the more I go through, it starts to make sense. Slowly but surely, I'm getting it.

Tremendous
I used Rosetta Stone for only one hour a day and I began to understand and speak Arabic without having to think about translating the words. I thought learning a new language would be too overwhelming but I was wrong. Rosetta Stone has made the transition so easy. I always thought that a private tutor would be more personal and up close, but I answer so many of my own questions with the help of this program. I love it!

The Art of the Arabic Language
This program is great. I got that for Christmas gift and started using it. I didn't tell anyone that I am doing it. Now I can understand most of the conversation and answer back in short sentences. No one knows how I am learing the language. I finally had to tell them and they were very proud.

Amazing Results
Only been studying for 2 months and am already able to comunicate to Arabic speaking individuals. It has helped me build a relationship in the finance industry. My little knowledge of the language has gained the respect of my Arabic speaking customers. I am truely amazed at how quickly I have been able to absorb and use this difficult language. Thank you Rosetta Stone!!!

Well Worth It
Starting Arabic was scary at first, but just following the progressive exercises and lessons has made it so I'm learning much quicker than I thought possible.
I will be moving soon to an Arabic-speaking country, and I'm glad I have this first step to make me more confident and prepared.
