New Features Give Learners Improved Language-Learning Tools

Arlington, VA., September 30, 2008 — Rosetta Stone Inc. has announced the global introduction of seven new languages in Version 3, bringing a new level of learning excellence to those wanting to learn Dutch, Persian (Farsi), Greek, Hindi, Korean, Polish and Swedish.

These seven languages join 14 languages previously launched in the Version 3 software, which allows learners to experience a new level of interactivity in the award-winning Dynamic Immersion® method. Also new in Version 3 are proprietary speech-recognition capabilities and advanced learning techniques.

The new Rosetta Stone® learning technology features include:

  • Proprietary speech recognition technology that gets you speaking from the start and speech analysis tools that help perfect your pronunciation
  • Contextual Formation™ feature that enables new language production from the first lesson by placing the learner in just the right context to intuitively know how to progress
  • Adaptive Recall™, feature that tracks progress and brings back material for review at just the right interval to reinforce learning
  • Milestone feature that lets you try out your language knowledge in real-life simulations
  • Improved intuitive, sequential learning that makes every lesson count and builds progressively.

"Rosetta Stone is pleased to offer our customers these seven additional languages in Version 3,” noted Tom Adams, CEO and president of Rosetta Stone."Our mission is to deliver the best technology-based solutions for learning languages; these additions to our Version 3 suite of options brings us one step closer to delivering on that mission."

All seven languages will be launched in the United States on September 30, 2008. Market-specific products will follow immediately for the German, Japanese, Korean, and United Kingdom markets.

The non-U.S. Version 3 releases of these languages will also include the introduction of the Audio Companion product into these markets. Recently introduced in the U.S. market, Audio Companion allows learners to extend their language learning while away from their computers and reinforce learning on the go.
