Jay Topper joined Rosetta Stone Inc. as its chief information officer in March 2007. He is responsible for the company’s infrastructure; financial, operations and online systems; and the program management office.
Prior to joining Rosetta Stone, Jay spent 10 years as a chief information officer for two mid-sized global companies. He was chief information officer for Seven Worldwide, Chicago, a $550 million publicly traded pre-media firm servicing the marketing supply chain. Jay’s responsibilities included leading the departmental turn-around and consolidation of several acquisitions, and creating from scratch off-shore capabilities in software development and operations. Prior to Seven Worldwide, he was chief information officer of Production Resource Group, a world leader in the entertainment technology industry. While at Production Resource Group, Jay oversaw the complete buildup of systems and infrastructure accommodating 10-fold growth and a dozen acquisitions over a four-year span. From 1986 to 1996 Jay was a commissioned officer in the U. S. Coast Guard, fulfilling various operational assignments including head of counter-narcotics for Central America, and command of his own ship in Gloucester, Ma.
Jay holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and a master of telecommunications and information management degree from Brooklyn’s Polytechnic University.
