Where are internships offered, and what are those areas like?
Opportunities for internships are available in most of our offices within the United States. Based on the department you are interning with, locations will be either Arlington, VA, Harrisonburg, VA or Boulder, CO.
Our offices in Arlington, VA are in Rosslyn, right outside Washington, DC. Rosslyn is our corporate headquarters and close to our nation’s capital, cultural events and beautiful national parks and rivers.
Harrisonburg, VA is the hometown of Rosetta Stone. Nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Harrisonburg is Rosetta Stone’s base of operations and where the company was founded. It is packed with history, outdoorsy living and is home to many local universities.
Boulder, CO is the home of Rosetta Stone’s Speech Recognition product Research and Development team. It is a smaller office but made up of some of the brightest minds in speech research in the world!
What is the dress code?
Rosetta Stone has a business casual environment, and while there is no official dress code, each individual department varies regarding dress and can give more information on what they require.
What events do you offer for your interns?
At the onset of your internship with Rosetta Stone, we organize a welcome reception for all interns. This is an opportunity for our interns to get to know each other and to become more familiar with the company. There is usually an executive from the company who will take part in a brief discussion regarding the business. In addition, there will be monthly events planned. We also organize a foosball tournament for our interns and the winner gets to play our CEO, Tom Adams.
What is the housing situation?
For select positions, Rosetta Stone will provide housing. The recruiter who contacts you can tell you whether housing is provided for the internship you are applying for. This will vary depending on the department and internship.
Is this a full-time internship?
If the internship is during the summer, it will be full time. If you are an intern during the school semester, it will be part-time.
Where can this internship lead?
Our internship program is a strategic plan to evaluate future talent and their place in our company, therefore, there are many places an internship with Rosetta Stone can lead. We hope it leads to full-time opportunities, additional internships, and at the very least, a priceless experience and connections for life!
Can I intern multiple times?
Yes. We love to bring our interns back for multiple summers or semesters.
Can I speak with former interns?
Yes, we can coordinate that in specific situations.
Are the internships paid or unpaid?
This will vary on the department and internship you are applying for, however most of our internships are paid. The recruiter who contacts you can provide this information.
