Our culture is amazing and it’s what makes us so unique. Our diverse, talented employees work in a high energy, fast-paced and dynamic environment. We reward innovation and encourage all employees to innovate at all levels. We truly live out our core values every day and take them very seriously. We work hard but we don’t take ourselves too seriously and know how to have fun.

Do you have flexible work hours?

Yes. Depending on the position you are applying for, there could be many options for you in terms of work hours. We understand the importance of work/life balance and we do our best to be flexible with our employees when we are able to.

Do you hire remote employees?

Yes. We do have employees that work remotely, but due to the collaborative nature of Rosetta Stone, most of our employees prefer to work on site. We are open to hiring remote employees dependent upon the needs of the position.

What is the dress code?

We want our employees to be comfortable and let them use their best judgment in how they dress. We hire smart people and trust that they know how to dress appropriately. Yes, we have certain requirements but suffice it to say, we are definitely business casual.

Where is Harrisonburg, Virginia?

Harrisonburg is in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, and within easy driving distance from Washington, D.C., and Richmond, VA. Harrisonburg is very close to Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Four Seasons resorts and many historic attractions. Another plus is the low cost of living and the true community feel.

What type of company events do you have?

We have foosball tournaments, a chili cook-off, a summer picnic with all kinds of adventurous activities, holiday parties, bagel Fridays, potlucks, costume contests, Weird Soda Fridays and much more.

How does Rosetta Stone help the local community?

What has Rosetta Stone done to be more eco-friendly?

We continue to take steps to be more conscious of our impact on the environment. All of our cleaning products are either biodegradable or chemically inert. We have implemented a recycling program that not only reduces the waste produced by the company onsite, but allows employees that may not have access bring in any accepted recyclables from home. These are just a few examples of how we are working toward protecting our environment.

What benefits do you offer?

We have two health plans and a dental plan to choose from as well as prescription drug coverage and vision care. We provide life insurance, short- and long-term disability, flexible spending accounts and a 401K matching program with immediate vesting. We offer generous paid time off, company paid holidays, discounted product for employees, and a tuition reimbursement program. Every permanent position in the company is eligible for a bonus.

Can you explain your interviewing process?

Once you’ve submitted a resume, it is reviewed by a recruiter. If you are selected for further consideration, the recruiter will contact you to schedule a phone interview. Further steps in the process usually include a telephone interview with the hiring manager, an in-person interview where you will have a chance to meet with an interview panel. Finalists are usually selected for a second follow up interview. Rosetta Stone follows the Topgrading methodology for interviewing and has incorporated many of its fundamentals into the interviewing processes.

Do I have to apply separately for every position I’m interested in?

Yes, your resume will only be reviewed and considered for the positions you apply for directly. If you are interested in more than one position, please submit your resume for each position.

Can I apply for more than one position at a time?

Yes, you will need to apply directly for each position you are interested in.

If I previously applied for a position will my resume be kept and reviewed for future openings?

No. To ensure your resume gets reviewed for all positions you are interested in, please apply directly for that position.

How long are resumes kept in the system?

We try to keep resumes for up to a year but due to the volume, this isn’t always possible.

What if I have applied and I am qualified for the position but I haven’t heard back?

Rest assured that your resume HAS been reviewed. We are delighted that we receive so many resumes from talented professionals, but because of that it is impossible to respond to everyone directly. If you haven’t heard back, even though you may be qualified for that role, it usually means we have identified others that are even more qualified. Don’t lose heart. Please continue to apply to future opportunities.

Does Rosetta Stone do campus recruiting?

Yes, we participate in spring and fall college recruiting fairs. Some of the schools we visit include Carnegie Mellon, Duke, MIT, University of Virginia, James Madison University, Virginia Tech, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Please see our schedule of career fairs.
