Bridging the Communication Gap

I’m on business quite frequently and happened to glance to the person across the aisle from me who was using Rosetta Stone interactive tutorial during the flight. We are in the middle of adopting a little girl from Guatemala and I saw this tool and was amazed. I have 2 boys ages 3 and 11 years of age and we are trying to provide tools for them to interact with the newest member of our family targeted to arrive sometime in the summer of 2008. Both my husband and I felt very strongly that both boys and ourselves should learn our daughter’s language as that is part of educating ourselves about her native language and heritage. This would allow us to communicate with her more easily as she transitions into an American lifestyle. I have both level 1 and level 2 of the Latin American Spanish and have found it very informative, easy to use and my kids love it. We look forward to welcoming the newest member to our family and being able to communicate and help her adjust to her new family, environment and country with the help Rosetta Stone interactive learning CD’s, we believe it will help us accomplish that and bond with our daughter much quicker.
